AVS A4

I have lost or damaged my remotes. How do I start the car?

Start the car by using PIN code override for emergency disarm. These instructions are included on your PIN code card and in the owners manual. Please note you will need the PIN code for this procedure.

You can purchase new remotes from your AVS dealer who will code them in to your system. Remotes are also available online.

My alarm chirps for a few seconds when I arm it instead of the usual one chirp?

A door, bonnet or boot is open. Disarm the system, correct the problem and start again.

I get four chirps when I disarm the alarm instead of the usual two chirps?

The system has been triggered. See your AVS installer if you would like a diagnosis of what has triggered the alarm as this can be retrieved from the system’s memory.

I disarmed the system a few minutes ago but now it is armed again?

The auto re-arm and re-lock feature has been turned on. It can be turned off by your AVS installer.

I have lost the arming/disarming chirps. How do I get them back?

Make sure the siren is turned on by pressing the panic button (horn symbol). Turn it off by pushing the button again. If the siren does not sound turn it back on again with the key. See the owners manual for more details.

If the siren does sound it is turned on so the chirps programming feature has been accidentally turned off. To return it to normal:

  1. Disarm the alarm and enter the car.
  2. Close all doors then turn the ignition on.
  3. Press the boot release button once. The siren will chirp once.
  4. Turn the ignition off.

Now the alarm arms on the normal button but disarms from the boot release button?

A programming feature has been accidentally turned on. To return it to normal:

  1. Disarm the alarm and enter the car.
  2. Close all doors then turn the ignition on.
  3. Press the boot release button 18 times (the siren will chirp once with each push of the button).
  4. Turn the ignition off.
