Check that the cellular modem SIM card has money on it. The relevant numbers will be recorded in the front of your owners manual.

How do I put more money on my AVS 9000’s SIM card?

Below are some options from the Vodafone website www.vodafone.co.nz on keeping your balance topped up. Vodafone may change these without notice. Please contact Vodafone on 0800 800 021 with any questions.

On the internet

You can top up using your Visa or MasterCard on the Vodafone website www.vodafone.co.nz. Just follow the on-screen instructions.

Topping up at your bank’s ATM machines

If you’re with the ANZ, ASB Bank, BNZ or Westpac, you can top up at their ATMs (you can only use your own bank’s ATM). From the main menu select “Other” and follow the on-screen instructions for Vodafone Prepay.

At the EFTPOS machine

Lots of stores have designated Vodafone eklick EFTPOS terminals where you can top up with cash, credit card or EFTPOS. They’ll usually have signage that make them easy to find.

At NZ Post

You can top up at any NZ Post outlet (or PostShop or Books & More store) with cash or EFTPOS. You pay the retailer for your airtime then tell them your mobile phone number.

Tips

  • Remember that the SIM card is inside your AVS SMS product which is hidden inside your vehicle. You will need to use the 0800 800 021 Vodafone number to check on your balance.
  • Vodafone need a minimum $20 top up to keep your SIM card account active. Check with Vodafone how often you need to do this.
  • AVS Car Security cannot control the guidelines set by Vodafone for their SIM cards. We are also unable to change settings on your account.
